It is late into the night as I'm drafting this post and I'm not even tired...all of us at the bakery have been waiting for this day to come and I'm so excited it's finally here. Feels like we have been talking about it at the market and writing about it in our e-newsletters for the longest time now...it even got a mention in the Rockford Register Star this week!
Today we are launching our CSB program - Blind Date With A Baker. You are able to sign up in person at our market booth or here online through our website. The sign-up deadline for Oct-Dec shares is Friday, September 29th and to celebrate the launch, we are also running a limited Special Offer. The first 20 members to sign up for the 12-week share option will get a free artisan bread baking class with us at Crust & Crumbles. We hope you will help us spread the word about our news because, as we like to say around here, what is love if it is not shared :)
At the markets this weekend, we will have Country White Sourdough, Cranberry & Walnut, Seven Seed Whole Wheat, and Olive Oil Semolina loaves. On special is the Chocolate Porter which we debuted last week - a coffee-infused batch of the Baker & Brewer with dark malty spent grains and chocolates throughout. All the loaves we brought last week were gone in the blink of an eye and we were so glad to hear that everyone who got it liked it!
As a reminder, the Rockford City Market is switching to "fall hours" this week and will close an hour earlier at 7:30pm. I can't believe there are only four Fridays left till the season is over. We will still be at the North End market on Saturday mornings until the end of October though.
